Simply put, we all love the 1960's. Baseball in the 60's went in with the Bronx Bombers dominating the game and went out with the Amazin' Mets shocking the world by beating the unbeatable Orioles. In between we were treated to some of the greatest HOF'ers and All-Stars ever. Offense was paced by names like: Banks, Aaron, Killebrew, Maris, Mantle, Mays, McCovey, Robinson. The era of the pitcher featured guys like: Gibson, Koufax, Seaver, Ford, Drysdale, Marichal, Palmer. And of course we can't forget the defense. This was the era of the scrappy shortstop who hit .220 but won games with his arm and his leather. Guys like: Belanger, Oyler, Harrelson, Wine, Kubek, Maxvill and Groat. But how could I forget the era of speed. Brock, Wills, Davis, Flood, Alou and Pinson were swiping bases at alarming rates. Put it all together and you have one heck of a decade to play out.
This tournament will play single elimination rounds for each season until we crown a World Champ from each. That world champ will move on to the final elimination bracket vs the other champs.
Should be a blast !
